CEKTOS offers metacognitive therapy online. Using a secure connection, you will be able to see and hear your therapist during the session. This service is especially helpful for clients who do not live near one of our clinics. This way, we can provide therapy to anyone in Denmark, as well as offer online sessions for those living abroad.
Research shows excellent outcomes when working with an online psychologist. Online therapy provides new opportunities in terms of time and location. For instance, you can combine your therapy sessions with traveling or attend sessions from the comfort of your own home or workplace. In some cases, it is even possible to schedule online therapy outside regular office hours.
Client satisfaction surveys consistently show high levels of satisfaction with online therapy. If you are interested in metacognitive therapy but live too far from one of CEKTOS' offices, online therapy may be the perfect solution for you.
The content of online metacognitive therapy is identical to the therapy you would receive in person at one of our clinics. Before your session, you will receive an email with a link to the platform used by our online psychologists. You will need to open this link on a computer and allow access to your microphone and camera. We recommend updating your browser and checking your internet connection before the session. Once you click on the link provided by your psychologist, the connection will be established.
First and foremost, it is important to create a private space where you can feel secure and fully focus on the conversation and email exchanges. This space can be a private room at home, a closed office at work, or another suitable location. The key is that you are alone and free from distractions.
It is also essential that you are comfortable navigating the internet and using a computer, even if you encounter minor technical issues (you don’t need to solve these issues yourself, but they shouldn’t discourage you). Familiarity with similar programs (e.g., Skype) can be an added advantage.
“I’m surprised at how well it works – it’s easy to connect, and I feel like I get just as much out of the session as I would in person. The guide the psychologist sent beforehand on how to log in was clear and helpful. Online therapy is a great solution!”
